Latest news on Industrial Action

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has called on its members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take strike action on 30 September and 1 October 2022. We’re sorry this strike action is likely to cause customers some disruption. We’ll do everything we can to minimise disruption and return our services back to normal.

Royal Mail has well-developed contingency plans, but they cannot fully replace the daily efforts of its frontline workforce. We’ll be working to keep services running, but you should expect significant disruption on strike days. Items posted the day before, during, or in the days after any strike day will be subject to delay.

On strike days, we’ll deliver as many Special Delivery and Tracked 24 parcels as possible and prioritise COVID test kits and medical prescription items. We will not be delivering letters, except for Special Delivery letter items. Delivery Offices and Customer Service Points will be closed. Please do not try to collect from or drop off items on strike day dates. Post Offices will be open on strike days, but collections from Post Offices will be limited, and customers should expect delays.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding. For up-to-date detailed information about our services during and around Industrial Action please visit: royalmail.com/latest-news.
